Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 July 2026
Eldear helps families stay close to a parent or older relative through a simple daily check-in.
Because that involves personal and health-related information, we keep this policy specific about
exactly what is collected, who can see it, and what we never do.
The short version. Eldear shares a small, deliberately limited picture with the family
members the cared-for person chooses. It never tracks location, never reads messages, mail or photos,
never uses the camera or microphone, and never sells data or uses it for advertising. The cared-for
person can turn any part of sharing off — or pause it entirely — at any time.
Who we are
Eldear is provided by Keerthi Bommareddy ("we", "us"). For any privacy question, contact
keerthibommareddy94@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Account details — your name and email address, provided when you sign in with Apple or Google.
- Family setup — the members of your Care Circle, their names and roles, the order in which
they're notified, and a phone number if you choose to add one for the call button.
- Check-ins — the time of each daily check-in, and whether it was tapped by the person
or detected automatically from their own movement.
- Health & activity data — only from the cared-for person's device, and only with their
explicit Apple Health permission: step counts, walking steadiness, walking speed, walking asymmetry
and sleep duration. These are used to produce the plain-language wellbeing trends shown to the family.
- Care content you enter — medicines and doses taken, appointments, tasks, notes, and any
documents you choose to upload.
- Assistant messages — what you type to Anya, in order to answer you.
- Subscription status — whether you have an active subscription. Payment is handled entirely
by Apple; we never see your card details.
- Basic diagnostics — crash and reliability information used to keep the app working.
What we never collect
- Precise location or GPS, at any time.
- The contents of messages, email, photos or contacts.
- Camera or microphone access.
Health data (Apple Health)
Health and activity information read from Apple Health is used solely to provide the wellbeing features
inside Eldear — the daily check-in and the walking-steadiness and activity trends shown to the chosen
family members.
We never use health data for advertising or marketing, never sell it, and never share it with
third parties for their own purposes. It is shared only with the Care Circle members the cared-for
person has chosen, and only in the categories they leave switched on.
Who can see it
Your family's information is visible only to the members of your family in the app. We do not make it
public and we do not sell it. We use the following service providers to run Eldear, who process data on
our behalf:
- Google Firebase — sign-in, database, file storage, notifications and server functions.
- Google Gemini (via Firebase AI Logic) — processes what you type to Anya so she can reply.
- RevenueCat — manages subscription status.
- Apple — sign-in, payments and notification delivery.
Staying in control
The cared-for person can, at any time and from their own device:
- Turn off any individual category of sharing — the family is not told which.
- Pause sharing entirely; the family simply sees that sharing is paused, never an alarm.
- Change who is in the Care Circle.
Any member can delete their account from Settings, which removes their account record. If you want a
family's data removed entirely, write to keerthibommareddy94@gmail.com and we
will delete it.
Keeping it safe
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our infrastructure provider, and access is restricted to the
members of your family through server-side security rules.
Where data is held
Eldear runs on Google Cloud infrastructure and your information may be processed in countries other than
your own, including the United States. We rely on the safeguards offered by those providers for
international transfers.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your family uses Eldear. When an account or family is deleted,
the associated data is removed.
Children
Eldear is not intended for children and should not be used by anyone under 16.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal
information, and to object to certain processing. Contact us and we will help.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update this page and the date above, and where appropriate
tell you in the app.
